For several years now, PSƧT has been collecting names of MaGe (people of marginalised gender identities and expressions) artists on a document. Initially intended for internal use, we realised that it would be useful to share it and make it available to everyone.
This database is a tool not only to connect with each other and strengthen our communities, but also to make this unity visible outside of our circles, answering once and for all to the mainstream scenes’ argument that we are not numerous or visible enough.
This database aims to bring together MaGe artists in the Belgian music scene and cultural sector as a whole. So far, the categories are DJ, producer, live musician, visual artist, technician, production manager, safety, collective, booking agent, manager, label, sound artist and global platform. The latter is the only international category, as we wanted to highlight databases and networks doing a similar work around the world.
This database is a work in progress and the website will keep evolving and improving. Feel free to send your feedback to database@psst.space.
You can BROWSE by typing in a music genre, a category, a specific job, or even the name of an artist in the SEARCH bar and the list will narrow down to show exclusively the results that contain your search. You can also click on the main categories or on tags. Once you’ve found a profile, you can then click on it and find their bio, websites, socials, or any other useful link.
Whether you’d like to add yourself or an artist you discovered, go to SUBMIT and fill out the form. We keep an eye on submissions and approve new entries on a regular basis.
